On 1 October 2024, the 3d International Exercise for Rapid Response Mobile Laboratories supported by the Government of the Russian Federation startsin Nizhny Novgorod.
The Exercise goal is to share experience in strategy and tactics of mobilelaboratory unit involvement in health emergency response and to provide an opportunity for professionals coming from international disease control and laboratory groups to practice their interaction skills required in case of aninfectious disease outbreak.
Over 150 professionals representing disease control and prevention services, healthcare organisations, scientific institutions from 30 countries, including the CIS, Africa, Asia, Europe and South America, are expected to participate.
For 3 days, exercise participants will have been determining functionalityand logistic demands of mobile laboratories before moving to a health emergency area during operation on a deployment site, they will have been studying encryptedmodels using up-to-date laboratory testing methods, and mastering their skills in biological risk assessment and management during their work in mobile laboratories.
Different types of Rospotrebnadzor’s laboratories will be involved for this purpose, i.e. identification and monitoring laboratories, portable mobile laboratories based on inflatable buildings.
Participants will witness advanced developments of the Russian Federationin mobile technologies, biological safety provision and laboratory testing withinthe exercise.
The 3d International Exercise for Mobile Laboratories will strengthenparticipating countries’ national potential in responding biological hazards and will promote development of international cooperation in combatting infectious diseases.
